Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Farm Manager to oversee daily operations of the poultry and crop production farm. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing farm staff, ensuring optimal production levels, maintaining animal welfare and crop health, and implementing best practices in agricultural operations.
Key Responsibilities: Operations Management
- Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of poultry farming and crop production.
- Develop and execute crop and livestock production plans aligned with the organization's goals.
- Ensure proper feeding, health, and general welfare of poultry birds.
- Supervise planting, cultivation, harvesting, and storage of crops.
- Monitor irrigation, pest control, and fertilization schedules.
Team Leadership
- Lead, train, and manage farm workers, supervisors, and technical staff.
- Assign duties and ensure staff are following safety, hygiene, and operational procedures.
Production & Quality Assurance
- Monitor productivity and implement measures to improve yield and reduce waste.
- Maintain records of livestock, crops, farm inputs, and output.
- Ensure biosecurity and compliance with environmental and safety standards.
Budgeting & Resource Management
- Prepare and manage farm budgets including cost control and resource allocation.
- Manage farm inputs (feeds, seeds, fertilizers, etc.) and coordinate procurement needs.
- Maintain inventory and proper documentation of all farm resources.
Technical Oversight
- Troubleshoot operational issues related to poultry health, crop disease, or equipment failure.
- Utilize modern farming technology and data to improve productivity.
Reporting & Compliance
- Submit regular farm reports to the company’s management including production updates, workforce status, and financial performance.
- Ensure compliance with local agricultural laws, animal welfare, and safety regulations.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or HND in Agriculture, Animal Science, Crop Science, or related fields.
- Minimum of 4 years experience managing poultry and crop production farms.
- Proven experience with layer or broiler poultry systems and staple crop farming.
- Strong knowledge of modern farming practices, biosecurity, and agri-tech.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a rural environment and manage large teams.
- Good computer literacy and report writing skills.
Preferred Candidate:
- Resides or is willing to relocate to Nasarawa State with accommodation provided
- Energetic, proactive, and passionate about agricultural development.
- Familiar with environmental sustainability practices in farming.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₦300,000.00 - ₦400,000.00 per month
