Job Opportunity – Entity Managing Director
Role Summary
We are seeking a visionary and business-minded Managing Director to lead a group of logistics and transport entities based in Lagos, Nigeria. The client is a leading provider of multimodal transport and logistics solutions across Africa, with operations in shipping, oil & gas, and inland logistics. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of corporate governance, financial management, and business leadership, and will be responsible for driving long-term success aligned with group-level strategic goals.
The role oversees six distinct entities, including transport, oil & gas, and freight services, and reports hierarchically to the Country MD and functionally to the CEO of Shipping & Logistics. The candidate must possess excellent strategic vision, strong leadership capabilities, and a sound understanding of the operational, legal, and financial demands of a complex business environment.
Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Business Operations
- Develop and lead high-quality business strategies and plans, ensuring their alignment with the Group’s short-term and long-term objectives.
- Lead and motivate subordinates to advance employee engagement and develop a high-performing managerial team.
- Oversee all operations and business activities to ensure they produce the desired results and are consistent with the overall strategy and mission.
- Make high-quality investment decisions to advance the business and increase profit.
- Enforce adherence to legal guidelines and in-house policies to maintain the company’s legality and business ethics.
- Review financial and non-financial reports to devise solutions or improvements.
- Analyse problematic situations and occurrences and provide solutions to ensure company survival and growth.
- Maintain a deep knowledge of the markets and industry of the company.
- Stakeholder Engagement - Build trust relations with key partners and stakeholders and act as a point of contact for important shareholders.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Deliver the year-on-year growth plan of the entity.
- Ensure the company operates compliantly.
Qualifications
Required
- Proven experience as CEO or in another senior managerial position.
- Experience in developing profitable strategies and implementing a corporate vision.
- Strong understanding of corporate finance and performance management principles.
- Familiarity with diverse business functions such as marketing, PR, and finance.
- In-depth knowledge of corporate governance and general management best practices.
- MSc/MA in Business Administration or a relevant field.

Work Details
- Work Cycle: Monday-Friday (8 a.m. – 5 p.m)
- Monday – Sunday (7-day cycle) - 0–30%
- Rotation - 31-60%
