Position Overview
We are looking for a strategic and experienced Contract Fundraising Consultant to lead our fundraising efforts and help secure capital to drive our next stage of growth across West Africa and beyond.
This is a 6-month, part-time contract (approximately 20 hours per week) with the potential for extension. You will work closely with our leadership team to craft a compelling investment story, identify investor targets, and close funding rounds that align with our long-term vision.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute a fundraising roadmap in line with our expansion goals
- Identify, approach, and engage with potential investors: VCs, angels, family offices, and strategic partners
- Create and refine investment materials, including pitch decks, data rooms, and financial forecasts
- Represent us in investor meetings, virtual pitches, and funding negotiations
- Advise on deal structure, valuation strategies, and market positioning
- Collaborate with finance and leadership to build credible models and growth narratives
- Monitor investor trends in SaaS, HR tech, and African startup ecosystems to optimize strategy.
Qualifications
- Proven success in raising funds for startups, especially B2B SaaS or HR/Fintech platforms
- A strong network of investors active in Africa and emerging markets
- Solid understanding of startup fundraising mechanics (equity, convertible notes, SAFE, etc.)
- Advanced financial modeling and valuation skills
- Excellent storytelling, pitch delivery, and investor communication abilities
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA or related postgraduate degree is a plus.
Compensation Structure
1. Base Retainer: Competitive monthly retainer (based on experience) for a 20-hour/week commitment
2. Success Fees:
- Tiered bonuses based on funds raised
- Extra incentives for early closures or funding milestones
3. Equity Compensation:
- Equity awards linked to performance and funding outcomes
4. Contract Duration:
- Initial 6-month contract, with formal reviews at 3 and 6 months
- Possibility of renewal or permanent engagement based on performance
d5. Expenses:
- Reimbursement for pre-approved, fundraising-related costs.
Why This Role Is Exciting?

You won’t just be helping us raise capital- you’ll be helping build infrastructure for businesses across the continent.
