Yum is looking for a talented and experienced Chef to join our team. This role is crucial in delivering high-quality meals, maintaining kitchen efficiency, and upholding food safety standards. The ideal candidate is passionate about food, skilled in kitchen management, and committed to creating an excellent dining experience for our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Food Preparation & Cooking: Prepare and cook meals according to the company’s menu, customer’s order and quality standards.
- Timely & Accurate Meal Preparation: Ensure that food is prepared on time and according to customer specifications.
- Kitchen Management: Ensure smooth kitchen operations, including food prep, cooking, plating, and presentation.
- Inventory & Stock Control: Monitor ingredient levels, track stock usage, and coordinate orders with suppliers.
- Hygiene & Food Safety: Maintain high standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and food safety in line with regulatory requirements.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with kitchen assistants, service teams, and management to ensure seamless food service.
- Menu Execution & Improvement: Contribute ideas for menu enhancements and ensure consistency in taste and presentation.
- Waste Reduction & Cost Control: Manage food portions and storage to minimize waste while maximizing efficiency.
Requirements
- 3+ Proven experience as a Chef in a restaurant, café, or food service setting.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of food safety regulations and kitchen hygiene practices.
- Excellent teamwork, leadership, and time management skills.
- Must reside within Ikeja or nearby areas for a reliable commute.
- Flexibility to work in shifts (morning and evening).
