Job Description/Requirements
Job Purpose:- Insurance Brokerage
The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving growth and expanding the client base of the insurance brokerage firm. This role involves identifying new business opportunities, building strong relationships with clients, intermediaries, and insurers, and developing strategies to increase market share. The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of the insurance industry, excellent communication skills, and a results-driven mindset.
Key Responsibilities
1. New Business Acquisition:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in both corporate and retail segments.
- Develop proposals and pitch presentations tailored to client needs.
- Conduct client needs analysis and recommends appropriate insurance solutions.
2. Client Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients and partners.
- Ensure client satisfaction through timely service delivery and support.
- Serve as the primary contact for key clients and manage client retention strategies.
3. Market Development:
- Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging risks.
- Provide market intelligence and recommend innovative approaches to stay ahead of the curve.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities.
4 Collaboration and Reporting:
- Work closely with underwriting, claims, and customer service teams to ensure seamless service.
- Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and performance metrics. Contribute to the development of marketing campaigns and business plans.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Insurance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6-8 years of relevant experience in insurance sales, brokerage, or business development.
- Strong understanding of insurance products across life, health, and general insurance lines.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and growing client portfolios.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in CRM tools and Microsoft Office Suite. Professional certifications (e.g., CIIN, ACII) are an added advantage.
