Open AI Academy is a Nigerian startup dedicated to decentralizing and simplifying Artificial Intelligence education for Africans first and eventually the world. We are seeking a Business Development Manager to join us as a growth partner and play a key role in expanding our presence globally. This individual will be responsible for driving partnerships, establishing international channels for payments and collaborations, and spearheading our go-to-market efforts.
Responsibilities:
- Identify, develop, and manage strategic partnerships to expand Open AI Academy’s reach in African and global markets.
- Build and maintain strong client and partner relationships.
- Develop and execute business development strategies that drive student enrollment, corporate partnerships, and international collaborations.
- Oversee the setup and optimization of company platforms including Google My Business, international payment gateways, and global outreach tools.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to design and implement campaigns that boost visibility and engagement.
- Conduct market research to identify growth opportunities, trends, and potential markets.
- Represent the organization in international forums, partnerships, and networking opportunities.
- Prepare and deliver compelling business proposals, presentations, and reports.
- Support the development of revenue streams and sustainability strategies for the academy.
- Contribute to shaping the organization’s long-term vision and expansion roadmap.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in business development, sales, or partnerships (preferably in the education, technology, or startup ecosystem).
- Strong understanding of international business operations and payment systems.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to build trust and close deals.
- Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and CRM tools.
- Ability to think strategically while executing operational details effectively.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with a results-driven mindset.
- Entrepreneurial spirit with a passion for technology, education, and innovation.
- Familiarity with AI, edtech, or startup growth is an added advantage.
