Job Description

DebusPay is a leading fintech company building Africa-focused APIs for wallets, bill payments, and seamless digital transactions. We are looking for a talented and experienced Backend Developer (.NET Core) to join our engineering team.

In this role, you’ll work closely with our product and frontend teams to build scalable, secure, and high-performing RESTful APIs that power core services like wallets, transactions, utility payments, and more.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using ASP.NET Core and C#.
• Build and document RESTful APIs for wallets, transactions, and bill payments.
• Integrate third-party APIs (e.g., VTU services, utility billers, payment processors).
• Manage SQL Server databases with Entity Framework (EF Core).
• Ensure performance, security, scalability, and reliability of all backend components.
• Write clean, testable, and maintainable code.
• Participate in code reviews, unit testing, and technical design discussions.
• Maintain API documentation for internal and external developer use.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional experience in backend development.
• Strong expertise in ASP.NET Core , C# , and Entity Framework Core .
• Solid experience with SQL Server , stored procedures, and performance tuning.
• Experience integrating third-party APIs (e.g., VTU, payment gateways like Paystack, Interswitch).
• Strong understanding of REST principles, API versioning, and authentication (OAuth2, JWT).
• Familiarity with API documentation tools (Swagger, Postman).
• Experience with Git, CI/CD, and Agile methodologies.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Bonus if you have:

• Experience in the fintech or payments space.
• Worked with Azure or AWS .
• Knowledge of Microservices architecture.

Education

• BSc in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: ₦350,000 – ₦550,000/month (Based on experience)
