- The Team Lead for HV/MV Transformer Maintenance is responsible for overseeing all preventive electrical maintenance activities within the plant.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensures all maintenance activities on transformers are planned, executed and properly documented.
- Ensures all condition monitoring reports are planned and executed.
- Periodically assess all staff under him for training needs for optimal performance.
- Ensures the availability of materials and tools required for the job under his purview.
- Ensures strict compliance with all safety requirements during and off the job.
- Provide support in spare parts planning, purchase and inspection activities.
- Prepare adequate justification for all services and equipment requested.
- Monitor and ensure that all assigned jobs are closed out on IBM Maximo.
- Perform technical evaluations as requested by the procurement department.
- Develop plant patrol and monitoring checklists and review them periodically as needed.
- Ensures that daily Plant patrols and monitoring are carried out.
- Ensures monthly reports are prepared, reviewed and submitted within the stipulated period.
- Reviews periodically all preventive maintenance plans.
- Conduct performance reviews of line reports.
- Ensures monthly sectional learning sessions are planned and executed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Unit Heads, Section Head & H.O.D.
Education and Work Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent in Electrical/ Electronic Engineering.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of relevant work experience with three (3) years in a supervisory role.
- A post-graduate degree or relevant professional qualification will be an added advantage.
Skills and Competencies:
- Technical knowledge of all electrical systems.
- Adequate knowledge of electrical equipment.
- Knowledge of standard operating procedures of relevant electrical equipment.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical faults with relevant electrical wiring diagrams or circuits to identify root causes of faults to avoid future recurrence.
- Knowledge of safety requirements and environmental aspects of the power industry.
- Awareness of suppliers of materials and services for electrical maintenance.
- Knowledge of the power generation process, commercial, e.g. tariff, value chain, etc.
- Knowledge of modern maintenance management practices and spare inventory management.
- Knowledge of statutory guidelines related to electrical engineering practices.
- Knowledge and application of electrical codes and standards.
- Basic Knowledge of other related engineering fields.
