Job Summary
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be expected to manage the full spectrum of commercial and contractual activities on large-scale road and bridge construction projects. The role involves cost estimation, budgeting, tendering, contract administration, project valuation, and change management. The successful candidate will bring deep expertise in cost control, FIDIC contracts, and financial reporting, while demonstrating strong analytical, negotiation, and leadership skills.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all commercial and contractual aspects of large-scale road and bridge construction projects.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and bills of quantities to support project planning and execution.
- Oversee tendering processes, including preparation of tender documentation, evaluation of bids, and negotiation with contractors and subcontractors.
- Administer contracts in line with FIDIC standards, including handling variations, claims, and dispute resolution.
- Monitor and control project costs, ensuring adherence to approved budgets and financial forecasts.
- Conduct valuations, prepare interim and final payment certificates, and ensure timely financial reporting.
- Identify and manage commercial risks, providing recommendations to mitigate exposure.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, procurement, and finance teams to ensure alignment on project goals.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior quantity surveyors, ensuring professional development within the team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- 10–15 years of professional experience in quantity surveying, with a proven track record in large-scale road and bridge construction projects.
- Strong expertise in cost control, project valuation, and contract administration.
- In-depth knowledge of FIDIC contracts and international construction standards.
- Excellent analytical, financial, and negotiation skills.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- High proficiency in industry-standard cost management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong reporting capabilities.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and deliver results within tight deadlines.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₦400,000.00 - ₦500,000.00 per month
