Role Overview:
The Senior Accountant ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, revenue cycle
management, operational efficiency, and adherence to financial controls. This role is pivotal in
driving timely and precise financial processes, inventory management, and credit management
while maintaining a safe and process-oriented working environment.
Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting
- Prepare and ensure the accuracy of monthly, quarterly, and yearly sales reports, profit
- Deliver monthly sales reports according to schedule
- Achieve a 98% accuracy rate in financial reporting.
- Ensure timely and accurate invoicing with 99% accuracy, completing invoices within 12
- Post 98% of inflows received within the same week of receipt.
- Reconcile Goods Delivered Not Invoiced (GDNI)/Accruals accounts with 95%
Operational Efficiency
- Provide accurate key partner reports within 10 days of month-end with 98% accuracy.
- Submit weekly Prospective Financial Information (PFI) Monitoring Reports by the end
- Ensure timely close out of all Performa Invoice to final invoices
- Maintain inventory reports with 95% accuracy, ensuring biannual stocktake variance
- Maintain cost profile of all inventory items for commercial and Tender preparation.
- Propose a minimum of two process improvement suggestions per quarter.
- Attend all weekly meetings of the Product Lines noting all comments on process
Finance Controls
- Adhere to financial policies and controls, ensuring 0% fraud and defalcation.
- Assist in Annual financial audit, clearing of MLP, tax audits and other regulatory
- Partake in half yearly/yearly stock take and reconciliation
- Monitor and improve Days Sales Outstanding (DSO), maintaining it below 90 days for
- Assist in credit control activities of the company
- Adhere to all QHSE standards and guidelines to maintain a safe and healthy work
- Participate in QHSE training sessions and stay updated on best practices for maintaining
- Actively participate in Unsafe Act/Unsafe Condition (UAUC) reporting.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certifications (e.g., ACA, ACCA, or equivalent) are highly desirable.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in financial management or accounting roles.
- Proficiency in accounting and SAGE software, with advanced Excel skills for data
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Power Bi, Excel, Power Point & Word)
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards, inventory management, and credit
