Job Summary
The Resident Engineer is responsible for providing on-site technical support, troubleshooting, and maintenance of network infrastructure at a designated client location. This role ensures network stability, high availability, and optimal performance of the ISP’s services, working closely with both internal teams and the client’s IT department.

Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
Network Monitoring & Maintenance:
- Continuously monitor network performance, uptime, and service quality at the client’s site.
- Identify, diagnose, and resolve network faults, latency issues, and service disruptions. Perform routine maintenance, software upgrades, and patch management on networking equipment.
Technical Support & Troubleshooting:
- Provide first-line and second-line support for all network-related issues at the client’s location.
- Handle fiber, microwave, and wired network troubleshooting, including CPE configurations. Work with the NOC (Network Operations Center) to resolve escalated issues and ensure minimal downtime.
Installation & Configuration:
- Deploy and configure routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices.
- Conduct fiber splicing, termination, and testing where required. Ensure proper installation and documentation of all network components.
Client Relationship Management:
- Act as the primary technical contact for the client, ensuring prompt issue resolution and satisfaction.
- Maintain clear communication and regular status updates with the client’s IT team. Provide guidance on network optimization and best practices.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate incident logs, service reports, and network diagrams.
- Generate weekly/monthly reports on network performance, issues, and resolutions.
- Document all troubleshooting steps and solutions for future reference. Prepare and submit network monitoring and uptime report
Requirements:
- At least 1 year of experience
- HND in a relevant course of study
