The Production Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the pastry production unit, ensuring products are prepared to the highest quality standards, on schedule, and in line with hygiene and safety regulations. This role involves supervising pastry chefs, bakers, and assistants, coordinating workflow, managing resources, and maintaining production efficiency while reducing waste.
Key Responsibilities1. Production Management
- Supervise daily pastry and bakery production, ensuring consistency, quality, and timeliness.
- Assign tasks and monitor staff performance during each shift.
- Ensure recipes, portioning, and presentation guidelines are strictly followed.
- Monitor production schedules and adjust workloads to meet customer and business demands.
2. Quality & Hygiene Control
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety, hygiene, and health regulations.
- Conduct regular checks on raw materials, workstations, and equipment for compliance.
- Ensure final products meet company quality standards before distribution.
3. Team Supervision & Training
- Lead and motivate a team of bakers, pastry chefs, and kitchen assistants.
- Conduct on-the-job training to improve skill levels and efficiency.
- Resolve conflicts and foster a culture of teamwork and accountability.
4. Inventory & Cost Control
- Monitor stock levels of raw materials, ingredients, and packaging items.
- Work with procurement to reorder supplies in line with forecasted demand.
- Minimize production waste and track cost of goods to align with budget targets.
5. Equipment & Safety
- Ensure all bakery equipment (ovens, mixers, chillers, etc.) are properly maintained and functioning.
- Report breakdowns to maintenance promptly to avoid disruption.
- Enforce safe working practices and PPE usage within the production area.
