JOB DESCRIPTION
Our client is a growing industrial engineering firm that specializes in mechanical and piping installations, industrial construction projects, and technical project management across various sectors, including FMCG.
They are seeking a Procurement Officer with a strong experience in import and export procedures and a solid background in procurement for engineering or technical operations to join their team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage end-to-end procurement processes for engineering and technical operations.
- Coordinate import and export procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with freight forwarders, clearing agents, and government agencies (e.g., Customs, NAFDAC, SON).
- Prepare and review procurement documentation, including purchase orders and shipping documents.
- Source and evaluate suppliers to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.
- Negotiate contracts and maintain strong vendor relationships.
- Support project-based procurement activities, aligning with project timelines and specifications.
- Monitor and track deliveries, resolving any issues with logistics or customs clearance.
REQUIREMENTS
- HND or B.Sc. in any discipline.
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in procurement within the engineering industry.
- Strong understanding of import/export processes, documentation, and compliance.
- Experience working with freight forwarders, clearing agents, and regulatory bodies (e.g., Customs, NAFDAC, SON).
- Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Familiarity with project-based procurement.
