About the Role
Xymbolic Development Ltd. is seeking a dynamic and experienced Plantation Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our Oil Palm Plantation in Oyo State. This role requires a hands-on, strategic leader with deep expertise in plantation management, strong people management skills, and a passion for sustainable agricultural practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee all aspects of oil palm plantation activities, including cultivation, harvesting, maintenance, and yield optimization.
- Lead and coordinate field teams to ensure the timely execution of farming operations.
- Monitor plantation performance, identify operational challenges, and implement solutions for continuous improvement.
- Maintain detailed records of plantation inputs, outputs, labour, and equipment usage.
- Ensure compliance with agricultural safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
- Supervise and mentor field staff, ensuring proper training, accountability, and performance reviews.
- Collaborate with agribusiness leadership to align plantation targets with broader organizational objectives.
- Develop and execute strategies for pest, disease, and weed control.
- Drive productivity, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness across plantation activities.
- Provide regular reports on operations, crop yields, budgets, and challenges to senior management.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, or related field. A Master’s degree is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in plantation or farm management, preferably in oil palm operations.
- Strong knowledge of oil palm agronomy, harvesting practices, and plantation mechanisation.
- Proven leadership and team management experience in an agribusiness setting.
- Strong analytical, decision-making, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work and lead effectively in a rural or remote environment.
