JOB OVERVIEW
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Oncology Nurse to join our dedicated healthcare team. As an Oncology Nurse, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care to cancer patients throughout their treatment journey. You will collaborate with oncologists, healthcare teams, and patients to ensure high-quality and personalized care. This role requires a deep understanding of oncology care practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage complex patient needs in a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care to oncology patients, including administering chemotherapy, monitoring patient conditions, and ensuring comfort and safety.
- Assist with chemotherapy, radiation therapy, immunotherapy, and other treatments as prescribed by the oncologist.
- Educate patients and families about cancer treatments, side effects, symptom management, and lifestyle adjustments.
- Observe patient progress, assess responses to treatments, and record all necessary medical information accurately in patient records.
- Assist in managing side effects such as nausea, fatigue, and pain through appropriate interventions and medication administration.
- Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including oncologists, radiologists, and social workers, to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Act as a patient advocate, providing emotional support, addressing concerns, and ensuring patient rights are respected.
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies, ensuring the delivery of safe, immediate care.
Requirements
- BSc/Master's degree in Nursing or other relevant healthcare discipline
- Fluency in English (both oral and written)
- Minimum of 3 years’ working experience in healthcare
- Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations and standards
- Proficiency in the use of healthcare information systems
- Excellent clinical and critical thinking skills
