Job Summary
We’re hiring an experienced Ophthalmic Nurse to deliver high-quality eye care across the clinic, diagnostics, theatre, and postoperative settings. You’ll support smooth patient flow, safe procedures, excellent patient education, and strict infection prevention.

Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities
- Triage and assess patients; record visual acuity and vital signs.
- Perform/assist with tonometry, slit-lamp exams, visual fields, OCT, fundus photography, and biometry.
- Prepare patients and assist in minor procedures and lasers; support intravitreal injections.
- Scrub/circulate for eye surgeries (e.g., phaco, trabeculectomy, pterygium), maintain sterile field, instrument counts, and WHO checklist compliance.
- Administer ophthalmic medications per protocol; monitor for adverse reactions.
- Deliver discharge counselling, eye-drop technique education, and follow-up coordination.
- Maintain accurate documentation, equipment care, and stock control. Participate in quality improvement, audits, and emergency readiness (BLS).
Requirements
- Registered Nurse with a current NMCN licence.
- Post-Basic Ophthalmic Nursing (required or strong advantage).
- 2–3 years’ experience in an eye clinic/theatre.
- Competent with slit-lamp, applanation/NCT, visual fields, OCT, and theatre workflows.
- BLS mandatory; ACLS an advantage.
- Strong patient communication, IPC discipline, and EMR proficiency.
