Job Summary

Ensure prompt and accurate posting of all cheques and approved vouchers evidencing settlement of claims and payment for expenditure incurred by the company necessary to generate qualitative, complete, and accurate information needed for decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable and receivable, depending on the role
• Utilize database software to organize financial account information
• Handle account inquiries from internal and external sources
• Make regular contact with clients to ensure payment
• Ensure company financial accounts, such as credit cards, are paid on time
• Perform internal audits on financial activities as necessary
• Review both incoming and outgoing invoices
• Generate financial reports for review by regulatory authorities prepare and present the section's budget to the Unit Head for approval and subsequent incorporation into the unit's budget.
• Plan and manage the corporate tax liability of the company in consultation with tax consultants to ensure maximum benefits from tax incentives available.
• Ensure accurate deductions, documentation, and prompt remittance of staff deductions for appropriate regulatory bodies.
• Ensure timely reconciliation of bank accounts monthly
• Prepare the company's annual/quarterly/monthly financial statement.
• Supervise monthly posting of salary to staff accounts.
• Ensure timely reconciliation of current accounts monthly.
• Review the integrity of monthly management reports to aid management decision-making.

Requirements and skills

• BSc, HND in Accounting (Member: ICAN is an added advantage)
• Min 3- 5 cognate experience as Account Officer
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Knowledge of the use of Tally accounting ERP
• Ability to direct and supervise
