Job Description/Requirements

Ananse is pioneering Africa’s first integrated fashion hub —a vibrant ecosystem where creatives and artisans come to learn, create, and grow.

Located in Lekki, Lagos, the Ananse Center for Design is a purpose-built creative and technical space where African fashion entrepreneurs can access high-impact training, cutting-edge production tools, professional studios, and world-class industrial equipment. We are a one-stop shop for fashion innovation—offering training masterclasses, sample development services, equipment rental, and dynamic studio and production spaces.

About the Role

We are seeking a Multimedia Content Production Specialist with strong photography, videography, and editing skills to bring Ananse’s story to life. You’ll be responsible for producing high-quality visual content that captures the energy, creativity, and entrepreneurial spirit of the hub—spotlighting our people, programs, and products across digital platforms. This is a role for a visual storyteller who knows how to elevate a brand through compelling images and engaging video content.

Responsibilities

Photo & Video Production

  • Plan, shoot, and edit photo and video content for training programs, events, fashion creatives, and hub activities
  • Produce vibrant, high-quality visuals for use across social media, website, newsletters, and other marketing platforms
  • Capture behind-the-scenes content that reflects the hub’s culture and the journey of our residents and partners

Creative Direction & Storytelling

  • Collaborate with the marketing and program teams to develop content calendars and storytelling campaigns
  • Assist in producing educational or promotional video assets for masterclasses, events, or brand partnerships
  • Pitch fresh ideas for showcasing Ananse’s impact through multimedia content

Studio Operations & Equipment Handling

  • Manage and maintain photography/videography gear, lighting setups and editing equipment
  • Provide technical support during content shoots, podcasts, interviews, or livestreamed events

Digital Distribution Support

  • Package and optimize content for Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, and TikTok
  • Work with the communications team to publish content according to schedule and brand guidelines

Youth Training & Skills Development

  • Design and deliver hands-on workshops or mentoring sessions for young people on photography, videography, editing and animation
  • Support trainees in developing technical and creative skills that align with industry standards
  • Create instructional materials and practical projects to reinforce learning in a real-world creative environment
  • Collaborate with program leads to integrate content creation training into broader hub initiatives focused on youth development and creative entrepreneurship

Qualifications & Skills

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Multimedia, Communications, Creative Arts, or a related field
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in photography, videography, content production, or visual storytelling
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Lightroom), Final Cut Pro, or similar tools
  • A strong portfolio showcasing diverse content—from portraits and documentaries to product and studio shoots (provide a link to your portfolio in your CV)
  • Fashion industry experience is essential

Personal Attributes

  • A creative eye, attention to detail, and ability to bring stories to life through visuals
  • Comfortable working independently and collaborating cross-functionally
  • Familiarity with content trends in fashion, culture, and digital storytelling
  • Passion for African fashion, creativity, and youth empowerment
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evening or weekend shoots

What We Offer

  • A creative, fast-paced environment where you’ll collaborate with emerging and established fashion leaders
  • Opportunities to shape visual storytelling across Africa’s fashion innovation ecosystem
  • Access to professional-grade tools, studios, and a thriving creative community
  • Competitive compensation and room to grow
