Key Responsibilities
- Export Operations & Documentation
- Prepare, verify, and process all export-related documentation, including invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, shipping instructions, and customs declarations.
- Ensure accuracy and compliance of documents with international trade laws and import/export regulations.
- Trade Compliance & Regulations
- Monitor and ensure adherence to international trade policies, export control laws, and customs regulations.
- Stay updated on changes in trade tariffs, duties, and trade agreements that may affect operations.
- Liaise with regulatory agencies, customs brokers, and trade bodies to ensure compliance.
- Logistics & Supply Chain Coordination
- Coordinate with shipping lines, freight forwarders, and logistics partners to manage transportation and timely delivery of goods.
- Optimize shipping routes and freight costs to improve efficiency and profitability.
- Track shipments and resolve any issues related to delays, damages, or losses.
- Market Development & Trade Support
- Identify and evaluate new international trade opportunities for company products and services.
- Support the business development team in negotiating terms with foreign clients, partners, and suppliers.
- Conduct market research to assess demand, trade conditions, and potential risks in target export markets.
- Financial & Risk Management
- Work with the finance team to ensure proper management of letters of credit, trade financing, and export payments.
- Monitor foreign exchange risks and support the treasury team in mitigating exposures.
- Provide cost analysis and recommend cost-saving measures in trade operations.
- Stakeholder Management
- Maintain strong relationships with vendors, international partners, and government agencies.
- Serve as the point of contact for clients regarding export operations and trade inquiries.
- Collaborate internally with procurement, operations, and finance teams to align export activities with business goals.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in export operations, trade compliance, or international logistics.
- Strong knowledge of customs regulations, INCOTERMS, shipping procedures, and trade documentation.
- Experience with trade finance instruments (letters of credit, guarantees).
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and trade management software/ERP systems.
- Attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
