Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Advise clients on oil and gas, power, renewable energy, and infrastructure transactions.
- Provide regulatory and compliance guidance within Nigeria and across Africa’s energy markets.
- Support the structuring, negotiation, and execution of high-value energy and infrastructure projects.
- Draft, review, and interpret contracts, agreements, and regulatory documents.
- Conduct thorough legal research and prepare well-structured legal opinions and advisory notes.
- Collaborate with partners and senior lawyers on complex transactions.
- Manage client communications and contribute to business development initiatives.
- Lead junior associates and provide mentorship within the practice team. Ensure timely delivery of legal services while maintaining the highest professional standards.
Requirements:
- B.L. from the Nigerian Law School or equivalent Bar qualification in another African jurisdiction.
- 3–7 years’ post-call experience in a reputable commercial law firm, with a focus on energy, oil and gas, power, or infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of energy laws, contracts, and regulatory frameworks in Nigeria and across Africa.
- Demonstrated experience working on energy or infrastructure transactions.
- Excellent drafting, analytical, and research skills.
- Commercial awareness and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent writing and presentation skills
- Strong legal research competency
- High proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office tools.
