Responsibilities:

• Advise clients on oil and gas, power, renewable energy, and infrastructure transactions.
• Provide regulatory and compliance guidance within Nigeria and across Africa’s energy markets.
• Support the structuring, negotiation, and execution of high-value energy and infrastructure projects.
• Draft, review, and interpret contracts, agreements, and regulatory documents.
• Conduct thorough legal research and prepare well-structured legal opinions and advisory notes.
• Collaborate with partners and senior lawyers on complex transactions.
• Manage client communications and contribute to business development initiatives.
• Lead junior associates and provide mentorship within the practice team.
Ensure timely delivery of legal services while maintaining the highest professional standards.

Requirements:

• B.L. from the Nigerian Law School or equivalent Bar qualification in another African jurisdiction.
• 3–7 years’ post-call experience in a reputable commercial law firm, with a focus on energy, oil and gas, power, or infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of energy laws, contracts, and regulatory frameworks in Nigeria and across Africa.
• Demonstrated experience working on energy or infrastructure transactions.
• Excellent drafting, analytical, and research skills.
• Commercial awareness and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent writing and presentation skills
• Strong legal research competency
• High proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office tools.
