A construction company is looking to hire a
Certified Quantity Surveyor to join its team. The company undertakes Residential, Commercial, and Industrial construction projects in different geopolitical zones of the country. Also, they do a full turnkey project from the design stage through the construction stage for individuals and corporate clients. They have a strong staff strength about half of which are direct industry professionals. Job Description

• Consult with the management about the cost of building projects.
• Preparation of bills of Quantities.
• Must be able to read and use Architects and the Engineers’ building plans.
• Measure and estimate building and material costs for projects.
• Prepare reports about projected building costs.
• Administer subcontractors’ contracts.
• Visit building sites to monitor progress and to check that the work is to budget.
• Recalculate costs if the design or material changes.
• Certify progress claims from contractors.
• Manage the payments for contractors and suppliers.
• Prepare financial statements periodically.
• Prepare of final account recording the actual costs of the project.
• Carry out services in value management, comparing building costs to similar buildings.
• Prepare building feasibility studies.
Consult with other construction industry professionals.

Professional Requirements

• A minimum qualification of a bachelor’s degree or HND in Quantity Surveying.
• A minimum of 4 years of experience post-NYSC.
• Professional certification is required – such as Membership of the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors(NIQS), Quantity Surveyors Registration Board (QSRBN) and other Professional bodies.
Proficient in the use of softwares like AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, etc.
