Role Description

As a CAT Associate, you will be instrumental in identifying, engaging, and securing investors who can help drive our funding goals and strategic partnerships. You will work closely with senior leadership to develop targeted acquisition strategies, execute investor outreach, and contribute to Umojacoin’s growth journey in the African fintech space.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in fundraising, investor relations, capital markets, or business development.

• Strong understanding of investment processes and relationship management.

• Knowledge of cryptocurrency markets is an advantage, but not mandatory.

• Excellent communication, networking, and persuasion skills.

• Based in Africa or has strong diaspora/investor networks

• Ability to work independently and deliver results in a fast-paced start-up environment.

• Fluent in English — Swahili, Arabic, or French a plus

• Access to Telegram, WhatsApp, and email is a must

• Familiarity with African investment landscapes and networks is highly desirable.

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and connect with angel investors, crypto believers, Web3 supporters, and early adopters across Africa and the diaspora.

• Develop and execute outreach strategies to attract investors aligned with Umojacoin’s growth vision.

• Build and maintain strong investor relationships through clear communication, trust, and consistent updates.

• Collaborate with the marketing team to craft compelling pitch decks, proposals, and investor-facing materials.

• Monitor and analyze market trends to align capital acquisition efforts with emerging opportunities.

• Contribute to strategies that boost user subscriptions and drive Umojacoin’s adoption in target markets.

• Support the leadership team in negotiations, due diligence, and closing of investment deals.

• Use our high-converting pitch deck, messaging, and email/DM templates to tell the Umoja Coin story with confidence.

• Close capital — deals typically range from $1,000 to $25,000+, and each dollar raised helps us grow liquidity and scale.

• Report weekly wins, leads, and pipeline updates directly to the leadership team.
