Accounts/Inventory Officer in an Agricultural Produce / Retail Shop
Job Summary:
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Accounts/Inventory Officer to manage financial records and monitor stock movement in our agricultural produce and retail shop. This role is essential in ensuring accurate tracking of inventory, maintaining daily financial records, and supporting the overall operational efficiency of the business.
Key Responsibilities:Accounting Duties:
- Maintain accurate records of daily sales, purchases, expenses, and payments.
- Manage petty cash and ensure proper documentation of all transactions.
- Assist with preparation of monthly financial reports and cash flow statements.
- Reconcile daily sales with cash, POS, and digital payments (GPay, PhonePe, etc.).
- Ensure timely submission of bills, receipts, and supplier payments.
- Support external audits by providing relevant documentation.
- File basic statutory obligations (GST, VAT, etc., if applicable).
Inventory Duties:
- Record and update stock movement (goods received, sold, returned, or expired).
- Conduct regular physical stock counts and reconcile with system records.
- Monitor inventory levels and notify management for restocking.
- Assist in organizing stock in storage areas for easy identification and access.
- Track shelf-life and quality of fresh produce, and remove spoiled/damaged items.
- Maintain records of suppliers, invoices, and delivery notes.
- Support with barcode/labeling and stock pricing activities.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Admin, or related field.
- 2–3 years experience in accounting or inventory management (preferably in retail/agric sector).
- Working knowledge of inventory software and accounting tools (Tally, Excel, POS systems).
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Good organizational and documentation abilities.
- Attention to detail and integrity in handling records.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with agricultural produce handling, grading, and perishability.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, seasonal environment.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Knowledge of local market pricing and seasonal supply trends.

Pay: ₦90,000.00 - ₦100,000.00 per month
