Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Truck Mechanic with expertise in Mercedes-Benz trucks to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and servicing of our Mercedes-Benz trucks to ensure optimal performance, safety, and minimal downtime.
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnose, repair, and maintain Mercedes-Benz trucks (engine, transmission, electrical, and hydraulic systems).
Conduct routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting to prevent breakdowns.
Perform engine overhauls, brake and suspension repairs, and other mechanical work.
Ensure that all maintenance and repairs comply with safety and manufacturer standards.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance work and parts used.
Collaborate with the fleet team to ensure timely availability of vehicles for operations.
Identify parts requirements and liaise with the procurement team for prompt replacement.
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a truck mechanic, with strong expertise in Mercedes-Benz trucks.
Technical certification or diploma in Automobile/Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Strong knowledge of diesel engines, electrical systems, and hydraulic components.
Ability to use diagnostic tools and interpret technical manuals.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Preferred:
Experience working with fleet maintenance in a logistics or transportation company.
Familiarity with cold-chain or refrigerated trucks is an added advantage.
