Job Summary
We are looking for a competent Mechanic to join our Workshop & Maintenance Department. The role is responsible for carrying out routine servicing, preventive maintenance, and repairs on company trucks, to ensure the fleet remains in top operating condition with minimal downtime. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the efficiency and reliability of our haulage operations.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform regular servicing and preventive maintenance on trucks
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults.
- Overhaul and repair engines, gearboxes, braking systems, and suspension systems.
- Carry out wheel alignment, tire changes, and lubrication as required.
- Ensure vehicles are roadworthy and ready for operational use at all times.
- Respond to emergency breakdowns and provide quick, effective repairs.
- Maintain proper records of all repairs, services, and parts replacements.
- Support the Workshop & Maintenance Supervisor in developing and implementing maintenance schedules.
- Ensure tools, equipment, and the workshop environment are kept clean, safe, and in good condition.
- Adhere to company safety standards and procedures at all times.
Requirements:
Education & Experience
- Technical diploma, vocational certificate, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical/Automobile Engineering.
- Minimum of 3–5 years’ practical experience as a mechanic (experience in haulage/logistics fleet maintenance is a strong advantage).
- Sound knowledge of heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and related systems (engines, gearboxes, hydraulics, braking, and electrical systems).
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, service equipment, and repair manuals.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently under pressure.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness to work outside regular hours and respond to emergencies.

Work Conditions

Pay: ₦100,000.00 - ₦150,000.00 per month
