Talent Development Manager - JD
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Talent Development Manager to join our client, A prestigious management consulting firm located in Lagos, Nigeria. This well-established organisation has built a reputation dedicated to empowering people and organisations to reach their full potential.
As a Talent Development Manager your role requires advanced technical skills in executing learning strategy and instructional design. The incumbent should exhibit strong leadership for team and stakeholder management and critical thinking to assess training needs and measure.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Social Sciences, Education or related field
- Master’s degree an added advantage
- Membership of CIPM and related certifications a plus
- Minimum of 6 years work experience in Talent & Development design and delivery
- Consulting experience an added advantage
Strategy & Planning
- Develop and execute talent development strategies aligned with the organisation’s goals.
- Lead the design and implementation of learning and development programs across all levels.
- Establish metrics and KPIs to measure the impact of talent development initiatives.
Leadership Development
- Design and oversee leadership training and coaching programs.
- Identify and groom high-potential employees for leadership roles.
- Partner with senior leaders to build succession plans.
Team & Program Management
- Manage and mentor the talent development team and external vendors.
- Oversee the learning management system (LMS) and training budgets.
- Ensure smooth delivery of training programs and initiatives.
Organisational Development & Change Management
- Drive Organisational change initiatives to improve culture, engagement, and performance.
- Facilitate interventions that support team effectiveness and collaboration.
- Use data-driven insights to guide Organisational development efforts.
Talent Management & Employee Development
- Partner with HR and business leaders to integrate talent development with performance management.
- Develop career development frameworks and succession planning processes.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with department heads and executives to identify talent needs.
- Communicate talent development strategies and outcomes across the Organisation.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external partners.
Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure all training programs comply with legal, regulatory, and industry standards.
- Maintain accurate records and generate reports on training participation and effectiveness.
Financial Understanding/Business Growth:
- Core knowledge of financial and business principles.
- Ability to develop winning proposals.
- Ability to deliver set targets.
- Capacity to negotiate pricing, customisation and delivery terms while balancing profitability.
- Strong collaboration ability with Business Development Manager to achieve set targets.
Leadership & Team Capability Building:
- Ability to manage and motivate teams to deliver financial and business results.
- Knowledge of leadership development principles to enhance team member productivity.
- Proficient in delegating and coaching team members for continuous professional development.
- Ability to develop talent within the team for succession.
- Ability to effectively communicate and share ownership within a team to achieve common goals.
Product Knowledge:
- Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of talent management, human resource principles, practices and regulations, including Organisational development, change management, etc.
- High level knowledge of the organisation's product and service offerings.
- Excellent communication of training solutions and tools that align with client needs.
- Strong facilitation skills in organisations key offerings.
Training Needs Analysis :
- Skilled in data gathering, analysis, client scoping and determining training requirements through surveys, interviews and performance metrics.
Talent Development Strategy :
- Knowledge in designing and implementing T&D strategies aligned with business goals.
Instructional Design & Content Development:
- Proficiency in ADDIE, SAM and creating engaging learning content (e-learning, workshops, microlearning).
- Skilled in transforming complex concepts into easy-to-understand materials.
- Ability to incorporate blended learning, microlearning and mobile learning into programs.
Client Relationship & Stakeholder Management:
- Capacity to build and nurture client relationships and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to lead consulting engagements, from discovery to delivery and impact assessment.
- Ability to collaborate with Business Growth Manager to achieve business results.
Program Delivery & Facilitation/Learning Technology & Tools:
- Strong presentation skills for in-person and virtual sessions.
- Experience nurturing relationships with internal/external facilitators.
- Ability to deliver quality services across all service offerings.
- Demonstrates good understanding of evaluation models to track learning effectiveness and business impact.
- Proficient in end-to-end execution of projects.
- Ability to apply project management principles for all projects.
- Knowledge of LMS and e-learning tools (Articulate, Captivate, Moodle).
- Knowledge of mobile learning, gamification, and blended learning as contemporary digital learning trends.
- Knowledge of interactive methods to increase learner engagement.
Client Relationship & Stakeholder Management:
- Capacity to build and nurture client relationships and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to lead high-level training engagements, from discovery to delivery and impact assessment.
- Excellent collaboration with Business Growth Manager to achieve business results.
Communication:
- Strong networking skills to build connections for the organisation's service offerings.
- Effective verbal and non-verbal communication skills to build rapport with stakeholders.
- Excellent in delivering high level presentations for the Organisation publicly.
