Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Superintendent Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our team in Uyo, Nigeria. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the operations of the medical laboratory, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and providing high-quality diagnostic services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all laboratory operations comply with local and national regulations, including the standards set by the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN).
- Diagnostic Services: Oversee the performance of various laboratory tests and procedures, ensuring accuracy and reliability of results.
- Quality Control: Implement and monitor quality control processes to maintain high standards of laboratory practice and ensure the safety and efficacy of laboratory services.
- Staff Management: Supervise and train laboratory staff, ensuring they adhere to best practices and maintain high standards of professionalism.
- Inventory Management: Oversee the procurement, storage, and management of laboratory supplies and equipment, ensuring that inventory levels are maintained and that all equipment is properly calibrated and maintained.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service, addressing patient inquiries and concerns in a professional and timely manner.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all laboratory transactions, including test results, patient information, and inventory.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science (BMLS) from a recognized institution.
- Current registration with the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical laboratory setting, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of laboratory regulations and standards in Nigeria.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in laboratory management software.
