About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Medical Laboratory Scientist (Sales Specialist) who will bridge the gap between medical science and business by promoting and selling diagnostic laboratory products and services to healthcare institutions.
This role requires a strong blend of clinical laboratory knowledge and sales acumen to identify client needs, offer suitable solutions, and grow the company’s customer base within Lagos and Abuja.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Client Relationship Management
Identify and engage prospective clients including hospitals, research institutions, and diagnostic laboratories.
Deliver compelling sales presentations and product demonstrations to decision-makers.
Establish and manage long-term client relationships to ensure repeat business and customer satisfaction.
Achieve and exceed monthly/quarterly sales targets and KPIs.
Attend industry exhibitions, conferences, and seminars to build brand visibility and market awareness.
Technical Support & Product Expertise
Provide scientific explanations and application support for laboratory products and services.
Offer after-sales support and technical troubleshooting to clients.
Stay up to date with industry developments, equipment specifications, and competitor activities.
Train clients and end-users on best practices for product usage and maintenance.
Business Development & Strategy
Analyze market trends, identify new business opportunities, and contribute to sales strategies.
Collaborate with internal teams (product, marketing, logistics) to deliver client-centric solutions.
Prepare sales reports, performance forecasts, and market feedback for management.
Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal quality policies.
Requirements
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science (BMLS) or Biomedical Science.
Registration with the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN) is mandatory.
Experience:
2 – 4 years of proven experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
Minimum 1 – 2 years of sales experience in medical diagnostics, laboratory equipment, or healthcare solutions.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of diagnostic tools, lab equipment, and scientific procedures.
Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical clients.
Good organizational, interpersonal, and analytical abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM tools.
Willingness to travel within assigned territory as needed.
