We are seeking a highly organized and proactive special need’s coordinator to oversee the smooth operation of classroom activities and support the teaching staff. The ideal candidate will act as a bridge between the school administration, teachers, students, and parents, ensuring effective communication and classroom management.
1. Individualized Education
- Design and deliver lessons tailored to each child’s learning needs, abilities, and pace.
- Use differentiated teaching strategies and specialized tools (e.g., visual schedules, PECS, sensory activities).
2. Support Emotional & Social Development
- Help children build confidence, communication, and social skills.
- Encourage positive behavior through patience, structure, and consistent reinforcement.
3. Collaboration with Staff & Families
- Work closely with therapists, class coordinators, assistants, and other teachers to meet students’ needs.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about progress, challenges, and home strategies.
4. Classroom Management
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and structured environment.
- Manage behaviors in a calm, consistent manner.
5. Record-Keeping & Progress Monitoring
- Keep accurate records of each child’s progress, challenges, and strategies used.
- Use data to adjust teaching methods and set new learning goals.
6. Advocacy & Inclusion
- Promote acceptance, inclusion, and respect for children with disabilities.
- Ensure every child participates in school activities as much as possible.
7. Professional Growth
- Attend training, workshops, and seminars to improve knowledge of special education practices.
- Stay updated on best practices for teaching children with different disabilities.
Requirement
Minimum of an OND / HND / Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field
Previous experience in special needs teaching is an advantage
Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
Ability to work well with children, teachers, and parents
Passion for education and student development
