Job Description/Requirements
To provide all Pipeline Engineering Design support to Projects, Project Teams and Tendering ensuring cost effective and timely solutions.
Responsibilities
- Pipeline Engineering design matters including deliverables such as Wall thickness calculation report, Stability Analysis report, Pipeline Stress Analysis report, Pipeline Corrosion Management Deliverables, Pipeline Alignment Sheets, Specifications, Datasheets, Procedures, Pipeline Operation and Maintenance Plan as well as well as MTOs
- Responsible for Pipeline Engineering related technical reports as may be required within the projects
- Manage interfaces necessary for pipeline Engineering design
- Ensure design compliance with contractually defined standards, specifications and regulations
- Review of Subcontractor Topographical, Geotechnical and Soil Resistivity survey reports emanating from the site survey carried out ensuring they meet project technical/survey requirement
- Follow up with Subcontractor Topographical, Geotechnical as well as Soil Resistivity survey site activities pertaining to and relevant to the fostering of the engineering design and construction of the pipeline ensuring that these surveys are carried out in line with approved project procedures and Specifications
- Participate in technical safety reviews as required
- Responsible for Pipeline discipline FEED design verifications
- Provide Pipeline Engineering input for the preparation of bid packages
- Planning control and coordination of Pipeline Engineering activities in accordance with project schedule and man-hour expectations
- Attend technical meetings with vendors as may be required
- Responsible for attending inter-disciplinary technical clarification and progress meetings for various projects & tenders
- Responsible for checking and approving of pipeline engineering deliverables
- Responsible for documenting discipline related lessons learned during project execution
- Responsible for managing discipline related technical queries and deviations
- Preparation and coordination of Technical Bid Evaluations (TBEs) for various materials/items/technical services procured for the projects upon receipt of vendor/OEM technical offers from procurement department
- Responsible for review of discipline related Vendor documents
- Handle any other job functions from time to time aimed at ensuring that project activities and related site matters function in line with the best practices
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s Degree (BSc) in Mechanical, Civil, Materials or Metallurgical engineering. Related Engineering Degrees can also be considered
- 7+ years experience in Pipeline engineering design (onshore & offshore) within the Oil and Gas EPC/Petrochemical Design Engineering (or related) environment.
- Preferably a COREN Registered Engineer.
- Good knowledge of relevant engineering standards, codes and specifications such as such as ASME B31.4, ASME B31.8, API 6D, API 5L, ISO 3183, e.t.c and Client Standards such as Shell DEP, Total GS, etc.
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft office tools, AutoCAD, Google Map, Pipeline Stress, Stability Calculation, e.t.c Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets technical information, contracts reports, Contractual and Tender technical scope of work as well as other technical instructions
