Sales Representative

Reports to: Manager

Working Hours: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM, including weekends/holidays

Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Sales Representative to join our pastry/cake shop. The successful candidate will be the face of our brand, ensuring excellent customer service, increasing in-store and online sales, and promoting our delicious baked goods. You will work closely with the baking team to understand the products and with customers to fulfill their needs, including custom orders and event requests.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet customers warmly and assist them in selecting pastries, cakes, and other baked goods
• Provide product recommendations based on customer preferences and shop promotions
• Take and manage orders for custom cakes and event catering (weddings, birthdays, etc.)
• Process payments accurately via POS systems (cash, card, or digital payments)
• Maintain a clean, appealing, and well-stocked display of baked goods
• Handle customer inquiries in-store, via phone, or social media professionally and promptly
• Upsell and cross-sell products to maximize sales
• Track and report daily sales and inventory to the shop manager
• Receive and manage customer feedback and complaints with courtesy and efficiency
• Support marketing efforts by promoting seasonal offerings and loyalty programs
• Maintain knowledge of ingredients and allergens to advise customers appropriately
• Ensure all food safety and hygiene standards are met in the sales area

Qualifications and Skills:

• Minimum of BSc. Additional training in sales, hospitality, or customer service is a plus
• Prior experience in retail, food service, or hospitality (preferred but not required)
• Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Friendly, energetic, and enthusiastic about baked goods and customer service
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple customers at once
• Basic computer and POS system skills
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and during peak periods
