Job Title: Sales Executive - Patrons MCAA

Patrons MCAA Limited is Africa’s leading modern and contemporary art dealership, specialising in advisory, authentication, consulting, exhibitions, investment, private sales, and valuation of modern and contemporary African art. Through our flagship publication, Art Index Africa magazine, and our private sales network, we connect collectors, brands, and cultural institutions to the best of African art.
2. Job Purpose
We are seeking an ambitious, results-driven Sales Executive to join our Lagos team. This is a full-time, in-person role based at The Civic Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.
You will play a pivotal role in driving revenue growth across two core areas: private art sales and the launch & expansion of Art Index Africa magazine.
Your success will directly impact our mission to promote African art globally while building sustainable business partnerships.
3. Principal Accountabilities
Private Art Sales
- Identify, engage, and maintain relationships with collectors, galleries, and high-net-worth clients.
- Present artworks and artists with a tailored, consultative approach.
- Negotiate and close art sales in line with company policies.
Art Index Africa – Sponsorships & Advertising
- Secure corporate sponsorships and paid advertising for Art Index Africa.
- Build strong relationships with brands aligned with African art and culture.
- Develop sponsorship proposals, pitch decks, and manage the process from lead to signed contract.
Art Index Africa – Distribution
- Establish and manage partnerships with premium venues (e.g., hotels, galleries, restaurants) for magazine distribution.
- Negotiate distribution agreements and ensure timely delivery.
General Sales & Business Development
- Achieve monthly and quarterly revenue targets.
- Conduct market research to identify new opportunities and trends.
- Maintain accurate sales records in the company’s CRM system.
Other Responsibilities: Carry out any other duties assigned by management or your team lead to support the company’s sales objectives, operational efficiency, and strategic initiatives.
4. Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Arts Management, or related field.
- 2–5 years experience in sales, business development, sponsorships, or account management (media, publishing, or art industry experience is a plus).
- Strong negotiation skills and a proven track record in closing deals.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Entrepreneurial mindset, self-motivated, and target-driven.
- Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends for events and client meetings.
5. Compensation
- 2.5% on private art sales closed.
- 1.5% on sponsorship and advertising deals for Art Index Africa.
- 1% on other qualifying revenue opportunities initiated or managed by you.
