Position Summary
The Operations Manager will play a key role in maintaining efficiency, compliance, and scalability in our global payment operations. You will oversee the daily remittance processes, collaborate with our banking and payment partners, and lead initiatives to optimise operational workflows. This position requires a detail-oriented leader who thrives in a fast-paced fintech environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage and monitor Sharperly’s day-to-day remittance and payment operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely execution.
- Develop, implement, and improve operational policies, procedures, and controls to increase efficiency and reduce risks.
- Oversee transaction processing, settlements, reconciliations, and issue resolution.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with banking, payment, and regulatory partners to support smooth operational performance.
- Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions, including AML/CFT and KYC obligations.
- Partner with Sharperly’s Product and Technology teams to streamline payment flows, automate processes, and drive operational innovation.
- Support incident management and business continuity planning to minimise downtime and service disruption.
- Prepare and present operational performance reports, KPIs, and insights to senior leadership. Mentor, guide, and develop the operations team, fostering a culture of accountability, customer focus, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Operations Management, or related field (MBA is a plus).
- Minimum 5 years proven experience in operations management within fintech, remittances, payments, or financial services.
- Strong knowledge of payment processing, cross-border transactions, and settlement frameworks.
- Deep understanding of regulatory standards, including AML, CTF, KYC, and related compliance obligations.
- Excellent problem-solving, organisational, and leadership skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, with experience managing cross-functional teams and external partners. Ability to adapt quickly in a high-growth, fast-moving startup environment.
