Job Description :
The Operations Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Bureau de Change company, ensuring smooth and efficient currency exchange services. The role includes managing internal processes, regulatory compliance, customer service, and ensuring the security and accuracy of financial transactions. The Operations Manager will also be responsible for developing and implementing operational strategies, managing the team, and improving service efficiency and profitability.
Responsibilities :
Operational Management :
- Supervise and manage the daily operations of the Bureau de Change, ensuring smooth and efficient service delivery.
- Oversee the buying and selling of foreign currencies, ensuring competitive rates and efficient cash handling procedures.
- Monitor transaction records and ensure accurate reporting and reconciliation of all cash and currency movements.
- Overseeing daily operations, ensuring smooth and accurate currency exchange transactions.
- Managing cash flow, inventory of foreign currencies, and ensuring adequate stock levels.
- Implementing and maintaining robust security protocols to safeguard cash and assets.
Financial Management:
- Implementing and enforcing financial controls to prevent fraud and errors.
- Ensuring accurate financial reporting and reconciliation of transactions.
- Monitoring and analyzing exchange rate fluctuations to inform operational decisions.
Compliance and Risk Management :
- Ensure that all operations comply with the regulations of the Central Bank and other relevant regulatory authorities.
- Implement anti-money laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) policies to mitigate financial risks.
- Conduct regular audits to assess risk exposure and strengthen internal controls.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, banks, and regulatory authorities.
Staff Management:
- Motivating and leading the team to achieve operational goals.
- Creating staff schedules and managing workloads.
- Conduct training programs to improve staff knowledge of currency exchange operations, compliance requirements, and customer service.
- Ensuring staff provide excellent customer service
Risk Management:
- Ensuring the security of premises, staff, and assets.
- Identifying and mitigating operational risks.
- Developing and implementing contingency plans for potential disruptions.
- Send both weekly / monthly report of your operations.
- Attend to any other tasks as given by your line manager.
Requirements :
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in operations management, preferably within a financial services or Bureau de Change environment.
- In-depth knowledge of currency exchange procedures, financial regulations, and risk management practices.
- Strong understanding of anti-money laundering (AML), Know Your Customer (KYC), and other regulatory frameworks.
- Proven leadership abilities, with experience managing teams and driving operational performance.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
