Job Description
The Night Manager plays a critical leadership role in managing the property’s operations after hours. This position is responsible for coordinating and supervising all departments during the night shift, including Front Office, Housekeeping, and Security.
As the overnight point of contact for guests and staff, the Night Manager leads the evening operation, fosters a positive work environment, ensures safety and guest satisfaction, and maintains resort standards in the absence of department heads.
Job Duties Include:
- Lead and supervise the overnight front desk and guest services team, ensuring seamless service and high morale.
- Provide hands-on support for check-ins, check-outs, reservations, and guest inquiries.
- Act as the overnight Duty Manager, handling all guest complaints, emergencies, and security issues with professionalism and poise.
- Ensure the safety and security of guests, staff, and property by coordinating with the on-site security team.
- Oversee the nightly reconciliation of accounts, ensuring all transactions and reporting tasks are accurate and complete.
- Monitor front office systems, occupancy reports, and room status to ensure smooth transition to the morning shift.
- Document incidents, log shift activities, and communicate key updates to day-shift leadership.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate overnight staff to ensure performance standards are upheld. Maintain operational compliance with company policies, guest service protocols, and internal procedures.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of hotel experience in a supervisory or leadership role
- Strong knowledge of front office procedures, billing, and night audit responsibilities
- Computer literacy is essential – proficiency in Microsoft Office and hotel PMS preferred
- Strong organizational and decision-making skills; able to multitask and remain calm under pressure
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A hands-on leader who inspires trust, teamwork, and high standards
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Hospitality Management or related field preferred Familiarity with safety and emergency response procedures is a strong asset
