The company is seeking to hire a result-driven Marketing & Communications Lead who will drive the strategic vision for branding, marketing, and communications to amplify the company’s mission, accelerate customer acquisition, and strengthen their position as a leading Insurtech innovator in Nigeria.
The ideal candidate will bring high-impact leadership, combining strategic foresight with creative execution and data-driven decision-making. S/he will be responsible for elevating the brand presence, engaging key stakeholders, and driving measurable business growth in a competitive and evolving market.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Brand Management
- Develop and execute an integrated marketing & communications strategy aligned with business objectives, ensuring consistency across all touchpoints.
- Define KPIs, success metrics, and reporting frameworks to measure the impact of marketing and communications initiatives.
- Position the company as a thought leader in African Insurtech through compelling storytelling, PR, and strategic partnerships.
Digital & Growth Marketing
- Oversee performance marketing, including SEO, paid media, email campaigns, and social media, to drive customer acquisition and retention.
- Optimize website UX, content strategy, and conversion funnels to enhance lead generation and brand engagement.
- Leverage data analytics to refine campaigns, improve ROI, and identify growth opportunities.
Stakeholder & Public Relations
- Lead media relations, securing coverage in top-tier African and global tech, finance, and business publications.
- Manage crisis communications and ensure brand reputation is protected and strengthened.
- Collaborate with product, sales, and executive teams to align messaging and amplify key initiatives.
Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing marketing & communications team.
- Partner with design, product, and growth teams to develop compelling campaigns, content, and go-to-market strategies.
- Foster a culture of innovation, agility, and creativity within the team.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field (MBA or advanced degree a plus).
- 5+ years in marketing, communications, or brand management, preferably in fintech, Insurtech, or high-growth startups. 2+ of these years must be in a leadership position.
- Proven success in developing and executing multi-channel marketing strategies (digital, PR, events, etc.).
- Experience working with a marketing agency is highly valued.
- Strong data-driven mindset with expertise in performance marketing, analytics tools, and CRM platforms.
- Exceptional storytelling, writing, and presentation skills—able to distill complex ideas into compelling narratives.
- Experience managing media relations, influencer partnerships, and PR campaigns in Africa.
- Leadership experience with a track record of building and scaling teams.
