Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Technician to join our partners plastic production facility.
The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the installation, repair, and preventive maintenance of machinery and equipment used in the production of plastic products. The role requires a strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, with a focus on minimizing downtime and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the plant.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and emergency maintenance on production equipment such as injection molding machines, blow molding machines, extruders, conveyors, dryers, chillers, and compressors.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues in a timely manner.
- Conduct preventive maintenance according to scheduled plans to minimize equipment failure and downtime.
- Install, test, and calibrate new machines and components.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, including service logs, inspections, and repair reports.
- Collaborate with the production team to ensure equipment availability and performance.
- Ensure all maintenance work is performed safely and complies with company policies and safety regulations.
- Assist with facility maintenance including lighting, HVAC, plumbing, and structural repairs.
- Maintain inventory of spare parts and request new supplies as needed.
Qualifications:
- A minimum qualification of OND/HND/Bachelor’s Degree in any engineering discipline or equivalent
- Minimum 2–4 years of hands-on maintenance experience in a plastic manufacturing environment or similar industrial setting.
- Strong knowledge of injection molding, extrusion, or blow molding equipment is highly desirable.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
- Working knowledge of PLCs and industrial control systems is an advantage.
- Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) software is a plus.Good physical condition and ability to lift heavy parts and tools (up to 50 lbs).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness to work in shifts, including nights and weekends if needed.
