Job summary:
The Human Resources Manager will lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of HR policies, frameworks, and processes to align with the company’s business objectives and regulatory requirements. This role requires a strategic HR leader who can translate organizational goals into robust people strategies, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and a positive workplace culture within a dynamic food manufacturing environment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Review, update, and implement HR policies to reflect best practices and legal requirements.
- Develop and maintain HR frameworks that support business growth and operational excellence.
- Lead change management initiatives to ensure effective adoption of new policies and processes.
- Design and implement competency frameworks and career progression plans.
- Manage performance appraisal systems to align individual contributions with company goals.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws, food industry regulations, and health & safety standards.
- Handle employee grievances, disputes, and disciplinary matters professionally.
- Maintain accurate HR documentation, contracts, and statutory records.
- Partner with leadership to strengthen company culture and employee engagement.
- Oversee full-cycle talent acquisition, onboarding, and retention strategies for all staff categories
- Develop and deliver training programs to build workforce and leadership capabilities.
- Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives across the organization.
- Utilize HR metrics and analytics for informed decision-making and policy adjustments.
- Prepare and present periodic HR performance reports to senior management.
Job Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
- Minimum of 10 years’ progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a senior HR leadership role, preferably in food manufacturing, FMCG, or agro-industrial environments.
- HR certification is compulsory (e.g., CIPM, SHRM, CIPD).
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian labor laws, HR best practices, and compliance standards in manufacturing.
- Proven track record in HR policy development, process improvement, and organizational change management.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
