Location: Lekki, Lagos
Salary Range: ₦1,800,000 – ₦2,300,000 monthly
Work Mode: Hybrid (2 days on-site, 3 days remote)
Reports To: Chief Technology Officer (CTO)
Role Overview
We are seeking an accomplished and forward-thinking Head of Technology to lead the engineering function within one of our core business units. This strategic leadership role demands a dynamic individual with a solid technical foundation, proven managerial expertise, and the ability to drive innovation and operational excellence. The successful candidate will be responsible for aligning engineering activities with organizational objectives, delivering high-quality products, and nurturing a high-performing technical team in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
Provide visionary leadership and direction to the engineering team in alignment with corporate goals.
Foster a culture of innovation, ownership, and accountability across all engineering functions.
Promote cross-functional collaboration to achieve product and organizational success.
Technical Strategy & Execution
Define and execute a robust technical roadmap that supports long-term business growth.
Drive the adoption of modern engineering best practices and scalable development methodologies.
Oversee the delivery of reliable, high-performing, and secure software systems.
Product Development & Delivery
Collaborate with product management to define product vision, roadmap, and priorities.
Ensure timely and quality-driven software releases that meet user and market expectations.
Monitor and optimize product performance, continuously identifying opportunities for enhancement.
Team Development & Talent Management
Lead recruitment and onboarding of top engineering talent.
Provide mentorship, coaching, and career development to team members.
Build and sustain a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance engineering culture.
Stakeholder Engagement
Act as the primary liaison between the engineering team and executive management.
Collaborate with other departments (Product, Sales, Marketing, etc.) to align initiatives.
Represent the company at industry conferences, tech events, and external engagements.
Data Protection & Compliance
Design and implement secure IT systems for the processing of personally identifiable information (PII).
Ensure adherence to data privacy regulations and internal compliance standards.
Enforce best practices for secure data storage, access, and transmission.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
Education:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
An MBA or equivalent business qualification is an added advantage.
Professional Experience:
Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in software engineering, including at least 6 years in a senior leadership capacity.
Proven track record managing complex software development projects in tech-driven or SaaS environments.
Technical Expertise:
Proficiency in Java, Node.js, Angular, Ionic, and PostgreSQL.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies, DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and Kubernetes is highly desirable.
Leadership & Communication:
Strong team leadership and interpersonal skills.
Strategic thinker with a passion for technology and innovation.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
