Job Title: Head of Global Trade and Export Services
Location: Lekki Phase 1, Lagos, Nigeria
We are seeking a strategic, visionary, and execution-driven *Head of Global Trade and Export Services* to lead and scale our international trade and export solutions. This role is pivotal to our growth strategy, with direct responsibility for developing products, partnerships, and operational frameworks that enable Nigerian and African businesses to trade globally — faster, more securely, and with fewer barriers.
You will own the end-to-end development of our export trade services, including trade finance, documentation facilitation, compliance, and customer onboarding, while collaborating with regulators, banks, logistics partners, and internal product teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the global trade and export strategy in alignment with Clearer’s cross-border settlement goals.
* Collaborate with the product and engineering teams to design and launch trade/export products (e.g., trade finance, export documentation platforms, FX hedging tools).
- Build and maintain relationships with local and international trade bodies, banks, freight and customs partners, export councils, and regulatory agencies.
* Lead a team to advise clients (exporters, manufacturers, SMEs) on compliance, international market access, export readiness, and funding.
* Oversee trade documentation processes, ensure alignment with international trade regulations (AfCFTA, INCOTERMS, etc.), and manage associated risks.
* Identify trade opportunities across West Africa and other emerging markets; work on expanding Clearer’s service coverage regionally and globally.
* Represent Clearer at trade forums, summits, and regulatory roundtables. Develop white papers, policy briefs, and export guides in collaboration with marketing.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
* Minimum of 5years of experience in international trade, export finance, or cross-border payments, preferably in fintech, banking, or trade facilitation bodies.
* Proven expertise in trade/export operations, trade finance instruments (LCs, guarantees), and international compliance standards.
* Strong network within trade ecosystem: NEPC, NEXIM Bank, Customs, shipping lines, ECOWAS trade groups, and relevant ministries.
* Deep understanding of *cross-border settlement*, FX regulation, and payment infrastructure in Nigeria and across Africa.
* Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.

Pay: ₦400,000.00 - ₦700,000.00 per month
