GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
The Finance & Administration Officer is responsible for managing the company’s financial records, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, supporting budget processes, and overseeing daily administrative operations. The role ensures accurate financial reporting, effective cost control, and smooth office administration to support the operational efficiency of the security company.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Financial Management
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including petty cash, income, and expenses.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Monitor and reconcile bank transactions and cash flow.
- Assist in budget preparation and financial forecasting.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and statutory remittances (PAYE, VAT, pensions, etc.).
- Process and verify payroll in collaboration with Operations manager.
2. Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Prepare and issue client invoices promptly and follow up on outstanding payments.
- Record and track vendor payments, staff advances, and reimbursements.
- Ensure all financial transactions are documented with appropriate support.
3. Administrative Management
- Maintain proper filing systems for financial and administrative documents.
- Oversee procurement of office supplies and other logistics.
- Ensure proper maintenance of office assets, inventory, and service contracts.
- Manage administrative support services such as travel, accommodation, and meetings.
4. HR & Staff Records Support
- Maintain employee records (contracts, attendance, leave).
- Support the onboarding of new hires from an administrative perspective.
- Assist in payroll documentation and staff benefits administration.
5. Audit & Compliance
- Support external and internal audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Ensure all financial practices are in line with internal controls and accounting standards.
- Monitor compliance with organizational policies and legal requirements.
EDUCATION & TRAINING
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
· 3–5 years' experience in a finance or admin role, preferably in a security or service-based company
· Knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and regulatory compliance
· Membership or part qualification in ICAN/ACCA is an advantage
- SKILLS & ABILITIES
· Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage)
· Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
· Strong organizational and time management abilities
· Good interpersonal and communication skills
· Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with minimal supervision
· Familiarity with HR and administrative procedure
WORKING CONDITIONS
DAYS OF WORK
5 days with 2 days off in a week.
SALARY BAND
70,000 + Data Subscription
