We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Engineer to support the smooth and efficient operation of our water production facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of all electrical systems and automated equipment used in the production hall. This role is critical to maintaining equipment reliability, minimising downtime, and ensuring consistent product output.
Responsibilities
Electrical Systems and Equipment Maintenance
- Carry out routine preventive and corrective maintenance on all electrical and automation systems.
- Inspect, test, and repair electrical components on water treatment systems, filling machines, sealing machines, compressors, and packaging equipment.
- Monitor electrical performance of production lines and recommend improvements.
Production Support
- Respond promptly to electrical faults or breakdowns to minimise production downtime.
- Support the production team during shift operations to ensure equipment runs optimally.
- Ensure all machines (bottled, sachet, and jar water lines) are electrically safe and functional.
Installation and Commissioning
- Install and configure electrical systems, panels, sensors, and automation controls.
- Assist in the commissioning of new equipment and upgrades to existing lines.
Safety and Compliance
- Ensure adherence to electrical safety standards, including lock-out/tag-out procedures.
- Maintain compliance with NAFDAC, SON, and internal safety regulations.
- Document and report all maintenance activities and incident investigations.
Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain records of electrical work done, parts used, and system performance.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on maintenance activities and equipment status.
Skills & Competencies
- B.Eng., HND, or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
- Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in a production or FMCG environment, preferably in water, beverage, or food manufacturing.
- Experience with bottling, sachet, and jar water production lines is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of PLCs, VFDs, sensors, relays, and control systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical manuals.
- Excellent fault diagnosis and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations in industrial environments.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and record-keeping abilities.
