Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Design, install, configure, and maintain scalable database systems (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, SQL Server).
- Administer cloud-based databases (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Google Cloud SQL, etc.) and support hybrid architectures.
- Monitor database performance using tools like New Relic, Datadog, or CloudWatch and optimize queries and indexes for maximum efficiency.
- Implement high availability, disaster recovery, replication, and failover strategies.
- Collaborate with DevOps and engineering teams to support CI/CD pipelines and database automation.
- Manage data migrations, version upgrades, and schema changes with minimal downtime.
- Enforce data security policies, access control, and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, SOC 2).
- Write scripts and automation tools to handle routine DBA tasks and reporting.
- Participate in incident management and provide on-call support as required. Maintain thorough documentation for architecture, processes, and recovery plans.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 4years of experience is required
- BSc. Degree in a relevant course of study
