Role Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and motivated Curatorial Project Assistant to support the coordination and delivery of exhibitions, public programs, and artist-led initiatives. This role is ideal for someone with at least 2 years of experience in the arts and culture sector who wants to grow within a dynamic, collaborative curatorial team.
You’ll help bridge the gap between vision and execution, working on scheduling, artist liaison, program logistics, research, and documentation for Uwevwi’s evolving curatorial work.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with project planning and day-to-day coordination of exhibitions and public programs
- Track timelines, deadlines, and deliverables using tools like Google Workspace etc
- Communicate with artists, designers, writers, and partners on logistics and scheduling
- Support the creation and editing of curatorial texts, captions, and communications materials
- Maintain exhibition checklists, production documents, and image archives
- Contribute curatorial research and assist with writing grant proposals or project reports
- Provide on-site support during installations, programs, and artist talks (as needed)
Qualifications & Skills
- 2+ years of relevant experience in arts administration, curatorial practice, cultural production, or creative project management
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Familiarity with contemporary African art and the Lagos creative scene
- Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive)
- Experience with project management tools
- Bonus: experience with grant writing, catalog production, or arts writing
