Cook/Kitchen Helper

Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Cook to join our team in Canada. The Cook will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and handling food while ensuring compliance with Provincial Health Standards and company policies. The ideal candidate will have excellent culinary skills, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and experience with various ingredients and cooking techniques. Fluency in French is required for this position, and the candidate must be willing to migrate to Canada.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and direct food preparation and cooking activities.
• Inspect kitchens and food service areas to maintain hygiene and safety standards.
• Clean kitchen and work areas thoroughly.
• Prepare, cook, and assemble required ingredients for standard recipes, including beef, pork, fish, and poultry.
• Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment.
• Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes to meet quality standards.
• Plan menus and ensure the highest quality food.
• Arrange for equipment purchases, repairs, and maintenance.
• Recruit, hire, and train kitchen staff.
• Estimate food requirements and manage food and labor costs effectively.
• Handle special functions or guest meals when necessary.
• Ensure compliance with sanitation standards and health codes.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Thorough experience in hot and cold food preparation.
• Knowledge of accepted sanitation standards and health codes.
• Ability to use kitchen equipment such as slicers, mixers, grinders, and food processors.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of international cuisines, butchering techniques, and creative menu planning.
• Ability to handle raw food safely to prevent foodborne illnesses.
• Proficiency in managing kitchen operations in a fast-paced environment.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in food preparation and beverage service roles.
• Must be fluency in French and English
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
