Role Overview: Chief Project Officer (Volunteer)
Location: Fully Remote
Role Type: Volunteer (Full-Time)
As the Chief Project Officer (CPO) at MARVECX , you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of major projects. You will play a key role in aligning our project portfolio with the organization’s strategic goals while ensuring timely and effective implementation. You will work directly with the CEO and Project Strategy Lead to manage cross-functional teams and drive high-impact initiatives across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the execution of complex, multi-departmental projects
Develop, implement, and refine project management frameworks and best practices
Align project outcomes with organizational mission and strategy
Oversee virtual project workflows, budgeting, and performance tracking
Coordinate with team leads across Research, Events, Education, Content, and Design
Identify and mitigate risks, ensuring all deadlines and milestones are met
Report directly to the CEO and provide strategic insight on organizational growth
Qualifications
Strong analytical, organizational, and strategic planning abilities
Proven experience in project and program management
Competence in remote collaboration tools (e.g., Notion, Slack, Trello, Google Workspace)
Effective communication and virtual team leadership skills
Ability to lead and motivate diverse teams across time zones
Background in aerospace, engineering, technology, or nonprofit project leadership is a plus
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Project Management, or related field (preferred)
