Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Carpenter to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for constructing, installing, repairing, and maintaining structures and fixtures made from wood and other materials. This includes working on residential, commercial, or industrial projects according to blueprints, building codes, and client specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical plans.
- Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood, plastic, drywall, and other materials.
- Install structures and fixtures such as windows, doors, flooring, cabinetry, and framing.
- Build frameworks for buildings including walls, floors, and doorframes.
- Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures.
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Follow all safety guidelines and regulations on job sites.
- Collaborate with contractors, labourers, and other construction professionals.
- Ensure work is completed on time and to a high standard of quality.
Requirements:
- 2 to 3 years' experience within carpentry
- Proven experience as a carpenter or in a related field.
- Proficient in using electrical and manual tools and measurement tools.
- Ability to read technical documents and drawings.
- Strong understanding of carpentry techniques and methods.
- Good physical condition, stamina, and manual dexterity.
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a carpentry apprenticeship program is a plus.
- Knowledge of building codes and safety regulations.
