Responsibilities:

Electrical Diagnosis:

• Identify faults in the vehicle’s wiring system using diagnostic tools (e.g., multimeters, scan tools).
• Trace shorts, opens, or faulty grounds in wiring circuits.

Wiring Repairs & Replacement:

• Repair damaged wires or connectors.
• Remove old or faulty wiring and install new wiring looms or harnesses.
• Rewire complete vehicles, especially in custom builds, restorations, or after fire/water damage.

Component Installation:

• Install electrical components such as headlamps, alternators, starters, horns, and fuse boxes.
• Wire aftermarket accessories like reverse cameras, car alarms, audio systems, GPS, and tracking devices.

System Integration:

• Integrate electrical systems with ECU (Engine Control Unit), BCM (Body Control Module), and sensors.
• Ensure compatibility between new wiring and the vehicle’s existing system.

Soldering & Crimping:

• Perform precise soldering or crimping to ensure secure, long-lasting wire connections.
• Use heat-shrink tubing or insulating tape for safe insulation.

Safety & Testing:

• Ensure all work complies with safety standards.
• Test circuits and components after installation or repair to ensure functionality and prevent shorts.

Documentation:

• Label wiring and maintain diagrams or schematics for future servicing.
Record repairs and modifications made to the vehicle’s electrical system.\

Requirements:

• Strong understanding of automotive electrical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and hand tools.
• Precision and attention to detail.
• Formal training or apprenticeship in auto electrical work (optional but preferred).
