Job Description/Requirements
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Head to lead the overall operations, strategy, and growth of our Oil & Gas business in Nigeria. The ideal candidate will have a strong commercial and operational background, deep knowledge of oil & gas sector, and proven leadership experience in driving performance, profitability, and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Business Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and implement strategic business plans to achieve growth and profitability targets.
- Provide leadership to all functional heads (operations, commercial, finance, HR, HSE, etc.).
- Align company goals with market opportunities and regulatory developments.
2. Operational Oversight
- Ensure efficient management of upstream/downstream/midstream operations (as applicable).
- Drive operational excellence, cost efficiency, and productivity across departments.
- Lead performance monitoring, reporting, and operational reviews.
3. Financial & Commercial Management
- Drive revenue growth, cost optimization, and profitability.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance metrics.
- Build and manage client relationships, contracts, and commercial negotiations.
4. Regulatory & Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with Nigerian oil & gas regulations (e.g., NUPRC, NNPC, DPR).
- Liaise with government agencies, partners, and other stakeholders.
- Maintain best practices in HSE and sustainability.
5. Business Development
- Identify and pursue new opportunities (exploration licenses, supply contracts, partnerships).
- Expand business into new markets or service lines where feasible.
- Represent the company in industry events, forums, and high-level meetings.
6. Team Development & Leadership
- Build and nurture a high-performing leadership team.
- Champion a culture of accountability, integrity, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Lead talent acquisition, development, and succession planning for key roles.
- Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in the Oil & Gas sector, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven experience in managing P&L, driving growth, and leading multidisciplinary teams. Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
